It's good for the most part. There are some glitches (key cards didn't work until I clicked the left thumbstick to take me to the SteamVR overlay and then click out) but nothing major.LOCOMOTION:I LOVE arm-swinger locomotion and will buy almost any VR game that has it, but the arm-swinger here is kind of like stumbling around drunk. You can only move forward. This game would be INFINITELY IMPROVED if you could control the direction of your movements based on where your thumb is on the trackpad. You want to walk backwards? Place your thumb on the bottom of the trackpad and swing your arms. Want to strafe to the right while you're shooting? Place your thumb on the right side of the trackpad and swing one arm while you shoot with the other. So, yeah. The locomotion is both the best part about this game and what's holding it back the most.DIFFICULTY:Most of the enemies are fairly simple to defeat. However, some of them are fast movers--like the golden crawling exploding bugs--and/or shoot very fast--like the flying drones--so it's easy for you to take a ton of damage and die quickly.WEAPONS:Personally, I'd ditch ammo packs altogether and have infinite ammo with cooldowns. Fun factor should always come first in games like this.FINAL THOUGHTS:Right now this game is better than average but can be great with some tweaks to the locomotion method. Maybe ditch the health packs and just have regenerating health with more enemies to up the excitement level.. This is THE most creative locomotion system ive ever played on VR, it solves the motion sickness issue really well, and its pretty intuative, swinging ur arm to walk in virtual reality can never go wrong, its simulating real life movement making you walk, jog and run. To top it all, you can always change your controllers in the main menu with another awesome controller that actually work pretty well in this game, the trackpad locomotion system allowing you to move all around the game with no bounderies. Simply love the options in this game.Running, ducking, gunning, avoiding incomming bullets and rockets, is so much fun and keeps your heart pounding. A great FPS with awesome looking graphics. The shooting is pretty satisfying, its like holding a real gun in your hand with a great feedback from the controller.Ive played the game for almost 7 hours and still ddnt finish the last level, the arenas and the open sandbox areas keep you coming for more, with different hiding strategies and different starting points at each time until you finally make it.In general the game is freeking awesome, worth every penny....Hope you guys enjoy it, i know i did.. Vindictaaa is a great game, i have played the game at e3, the first impression was another first person shooter, but trust me everything was different from the moment i got my head inside the game. The prefered locomotion was the arm swinging which was strange at first but i got used to it so quickly, it helps a lot with loosing any notion of motion sickness. The shooting mechanism is quite accurate, i kept getting these HEADSHOTS, and the strategy in order to complete the levels was different from other games. I tried many games at e3, but this one i enjoyed so much. So i waited 3hours in line to be able to play it, and kept on coming for more, the second day waited for 30 min, but since the devs are awesome, they let me try it without further wait :D. Honestly i think it was the best game showcasing there, Like kobe bryant was for the Lakers (since we were in LA;) ). Now I am very thankfull that the game is online, i will play it till the end and will update my review soon :). VINDICTA is a first person shooter with excellent locomotion, great cover-based shooting, and bright, clean graphics. Check out the full review here:https://youtu.be/l6xURiZWxYw. It's pretty fun. Not a lot of guidance, so you have to figure a lot of the controls out (point your gun down to reload, you have swords on your back you can grab). I haven't gotten motion sick in VR for awhile though, but this game made me sick after about 30 minutes of playing.. Sci-fi Shooter Goodness. This is a good graphical challenging sci-fi VR shooter with a slight story to it. The first levels are not too challenging but as you progress it gets harder. You can redo the levels to get a better score on the leaderboards if that is your taste. This game has more than one form of locomotion to choose from. Arm-swing is the highlight form of movement and it is implemented very well. The guns are fairly easy to use and auto reload is synonymous with an arcade type game which this is even though it is free roaming and has various levels. The devs recently added melee weapons to the game. Perfect for those who like getting more of a workout although I am not sure it is practical in this kind of game. Just my opinion. The sound effects are satisfying and the interaction in the game adds to the immersion of being there and having a purpose. As I said the game starts slow to help you get used to the game play but paces up as you venture through each level. My main gripes with the game is that the way some levels are set up it is difficult to form a strategy because of enemy locations. Shooting far away the guns can be in-accurate. And some enemies damage was way too high in my opinion. These are not anti-fun issues though. They can be worked around but I am sure the developer will work on tweaking the game some more. This is worth a buy if you like exploration, large levels, and shooters in VR. My rating is a 7/10. I played this game in one of my game medley sessions. It is a live re-run and unedited so Vidicta is the second video in the trio. Fast forward to it. The video below the first is more recent and has 4k resolution and it is only Vindictus game play. Vindicta is an amazingly fun, well polished and immersive arcade style first person shooter. 1. Graphics The graphics are cartoony and provide a fun environment to run around in. They effects, explosions, and animations are all spot on and relay a whimsical yet action packed feeling to the game. The textures are nice although low res in some spots but nothing immersion breaking. The frame rate subsequently is quite high. Clipping in the game is generally spot on. 2. Sound The music in the game provides a fair pace to the action. The sound effects for the weapons , enemies and explosions provides a nice setting and feeling. The guns sounds appropriately chunky. The enemies die in metal crunching and bolt spewing tones.3. Level design The levels are varied in both environment and architecture. They provide a solid platform to fight on, with differing vetical firefights ensuing, platforms and walls to duck and hide behind. I felt some of the hallways were a bit overly long to traverse after killing the room. The hallways are wide enough to not feel confined. There are certain parts in later levels where you do need to watch you step or fall to insta-death.4. GameplayThis is where Vindicta truly shines. The guns are really really spot on and accurate, especially the pistol. The machine and sub machine guns are super fun to use, although some require two hands which makes it a little tough to switch guns during a heavy firefight. There is a serious lack of ammo in the game , which only really appears around well placed checkpoints - markers in the level which allow you to start there instead of the beginning. A great feature , no doubt in an arcade type game where you can die very quickly if you rush around into a ton of enemies. The enemy types are quite diverse , ranging from regular grunt robots to flying drones that surround you, to the new fire throwing robot. Some robots lob mortars at you which makes it tough to get past them with low ammo. This game is ALL ABOUT ammo management. Having poor aim is a serious detriment ; you need to git gud. The levels are long and provide quite a fun challenge, ramping up in each stage to an almost madness level of fighting near the end of each level. The power ups are infrequent but there is the occasional shield and other interesting gizmos. There are also parkour elements such as overhead climb and pulling yourself across ceiling with no floor - these parts are nail biting and tense as you can fall to your doom if you rush. Try that while out of ammo having 30 robots shooting at you while trying to monkey bar to the other side, exhilarating to say the least. 5. Value and conclusion.Gamecooks have recently reduced the price of their game to $14.99 to reflect missing pieces as this early access title is still in development. I for one am eagerly awaiting all the features that are coming in the future , including a possible co-op campaign ability and multiplayer battles. For $15 this game is well worth the price of admission as a fun arcade style FPS that you can switch off levels or deaths with some friends or just solo the missions and try to achieve the high score on the leader boards. I give Vindicta in it's current form an 8.5/10-Atreus2kwww.facebook.com/watchvirtualrealitylive. Pros:- Progressing through the levels feels awesome. There is climbing, crouching, sneaking, sliding down ropes. Just from a pure platforming standpoint, this game was very enjoyable for a action shooter.- Arm Swing locomotion is amazing. I find arm swing to be the most immersive locomotion option. I find that with just pure trackpad it feels too gamey and doesn't require me to be an into as I would want with room scale. Arm swing really gets you into the game, it also has the added bonus of allowing for you to fine tune the speed you want to move. The only negative I had with the locomotion was that there seemed to be a pretty low speed cap meaning you aren't really allowed to really start moving super fast, for something that requires physical movement out of game I don't see why there has to be a cap that low. - The enemies are varied enough that I haven't gotten bored of fighting them yet. I do wish there was a little bit more types of enemy fire, for example if a enemy shot 2x as much, but every other shot was fired in a random spot near you, the room would start to feel a lot more dangerous. I found as long as you kept moving you could largely be as agressive as you wanted to be with little actual danger. It was kind of annoying that they would fire at you when you weren't in the room yet, but I did like that they fire at you even when you were out of line of sight, just becuase I think more bullets in the room helps it feel more perilous, even if they aren't actually fired directly at you. I also wish some of the enemy shots had more permanence in the world, I watch a big green glob hit a wall and then nothing was there, kind of takes away from the immersion of those enemies. - The varied amount of guns was pretty cool. All the guns felt appropriatly unique and had their own feel. The bullet trails make it really easy to get a hang of aiming, which just allows the player to feel cooler. When I had to make decisions about what guns to leave behind I would often be kind of stumped at what my worst gun was, which to me is awesome when I am choosing more for gun feel and not just power. Cons: - I'm not sure if trying to just get higher scores is a large enough draw for me to continue playing this game once I complete the story. While I really enjoyed playing this game, and I think it was 100% worth what I payed for it, I can't see myself playing it nearly as much as I play Sairento or Rec Room. I would love to see proceduraly generated levels to allow for unique playthroughs over and over again. Part of this is the lack of exploration in the currently levels, they are very strait forward in a way that it almost feels like it's on rails at some points. I would love to see more side paths / alternative paths / hidden secrets. All the guns are currently just kind of given to you as you walk through levels, I would love for there to be more hidden off the path things. (Unless there are and I just missed them all...then they are too well hidden becuase I never noticed anything). For an early access, this felt like a surprisingly complete game. I do think that the price is a little high for what it is right now, but it was still enjoyable and if it continues to recieve updates I could see this growing into that price easily. With some early access improvements this product could really shine.. Just got a chance to play Vindicta for a good hour and half. And while I don't usually write reviews, this game does not deserve a mixed score. Its a solid shooter with a lot of gameplay time. It took me at least 45min to cross the first level. The game is INTENSE! It didn't take long for me to break a sweat! The shooting is on point. And the arm-swinging movement was smooth and easy to get used to. At the price point they have it now (it was previously I think 29$) I definitely recommend it.. No snap turning support on Oculus Rift ruins an otherwise fun game.
